New season, new ammunition – and an impressed new head coach
RWS welcomed special guests to its test shooting range and production facility: newly appointed French biathlon head coach Siegfried Mazet visited together with two colleagues to select the optimal ammunition for the upcoming season.
Mazet takes over from Jean-Pierre Amat and returns to familiar territory. Many years ago, he already coached the French national team before moving on to the Norwegian team, where he achieved major international success. Now, he is back home in France with one clear mission: leading what could be the strongest French biathlon team ever to peak performance.
The visit focused entirely on precision and performance. Together with RWS experts, different ammunition lots were tested, analyzed, and fine-tuned under competition-like conditions. In biathlon, where milliseconds and millimeters can decide victory or defeat, the perfect match between athlete, rifle, and ammunition is essential.

During the visit, we also took the opportunity to conduct a short interview with the new French head coach. Mazet spoke about his return to France, the challenges of the upcoming season, and the importance of perfectly matched ammunition in elite international biathlon competition.
