ANNA JANSSEN BECOMES 3-TIME EUROPEAN CHAMPION WITH RWS R10
We are incredibly proud of our RWS shooter Anna Janssen, who romped home with all the honours she could possibly take at the European Championships in Györ (Hungary)!
Not only did Anna Janssen (Freising) win the gold medal in the individual air rifle event at the European Air Rifle Championships in Györ, she also pocketed the mixed title together with Maximilian Ulbrich and came first in the Trio Women discipline with Anita Mangold and Larissa Wegner.
With her victory in the individual event, the 22-year-old markswoman from the Kevelaer shooting club has secured a quota place for the German Shooting Sport and Archery Federation at Paris 2024, which will bring her a big step closer to fulfilling her dream of competing in this year’s Olympic Games.
But Anna Janssen has not automatically secured an Olympic ticket just by winning the title. After all, the quota place is reserved for the country and not for the shooter. It is now in the hands of the German Shooting Sport and Archery Federation (DSB) to nominate a shooter that has taken a quota place and will start in Paris.
An internal qualification will decide whether Anna Janssen will be this athlete.
But the three gold medals dangling from her neck must surely give her enough trust and self-confidence to overcome this final hurdle on the road to Paris.
