Successful weekend for the French biathlon team in Hochfilzen

The French biathlon team impressively demonstrated its strength at the World Cup in Hochfilzen (13-15 December 2024). Thanks to outstanding performances in both the individual and relay competitions, the athletes were able to collect valuable points for the overall World Cup and demonstrate their impressive form at the same time. As a proud partner of the team, RWS congratulates the athletes on these outstanding successes.

Women's team on course for success

In the women's sprint over 7.5 km on 13 December 2024, Sophie Chauveau achieved a fantastic 2nd place with a flawless shooting and excellent speed on the cross-country ski run. She was only beaten by the German athlete Franziska Preuß. This podium finish marks an important milestone in her season to date.

On the following day, 14 December, Lou Jeanmonnot crowned the team's strong performance with a victory in the 10 km pursuit. Thanks to her strong nerves at the shooting range and impressive running performance, she was able to win the race and record another triumph for France.

In the relay (4×6 km) on 15 December, the women's team also showed great form and secured 2nd place behind the German quartet. The precision at the shooting range and the commitment on the cross-country ski run emphasised the team's balance and strength.

Triumph of the men in the relay

The highlight for the men was the relay competition on 15 December over 4×7.5 km. With an almost perfect performance at the shooting range and fast running times, the French were able to win the race and take first place. This victory demonstrates the outstanding teamwork and class of the athletes.

The Norwegian athletes led by Johannes Thingnes Bø dominated the men's sprint and pursuit, but the French also performed well and fought for the top places in a high-class field of participants.
