Circular seam coating
Cartridges of the same calibre can have bullets of the same construction but with different weights.
RWS makes it easy for you to recognize the correct bullet: Cartridges with heavy bullets have a circular seam coating – a red respectively green marking of the primer cup.
Within one calibre the following applies:
Bullet with lowest weight: no circular seam coating
bullet with medium weight: green circular seam coating
bullet with heaviest weight: red circular seam coating
The calibres 8 x 57 J(R) and 8 x 57 J(R)S are an exception. Here the black circular seam coating indicates the larger bullet diameter of the “S” cartridges.
