Special cartridges with subsonic velocity and therefore reduced sound level. The low <link glossary>initial velocity is achieved by using extra heavy <link glossary>bullets and a reduced <link glossary>propellant charge. Those special cartridges are required at noise-sensitive shooting ranges.
